The Tech4Good Leadership Pledge

Innovation • Equity • Empowerment • Public Purpose

Technology is a powerful force that can either widen societal gaps or close them, fuel fear or expand opportunity. As leaders, we choose the future we create—one rooted in dignity, prosperity, and shared power.

This pledge is my public, personal, and professional commitment to uphold the highest standard. It is a promise to hold our work accountable to enduring values: truth, empowerment, equity, service, and abundance grounded in generosity and value creation.

Guiding Principles
  • Abundance through Generosity: We create more value than we consume, pay opportunities forward, and design systems where prosperity increases through wider participation.
  • Power with Purpose: We will use our influence in shaping technology and public systems with humility, discipline, and a long-view centered on people, not profit.
  • Equity and Empowerment: We build, invest, and deploy with inclusion at the core to close gaps, not deepen them. We commit to digital equity, ensuring every community has the tools, access, and pathways to participate fully in the modern economy.
  • Collective Strength: We recognize that the complex challenges of our time require collective strength. Shared progress across sectors and lived experiences is stronger than isolated wins.
  • Human-Centered Impact: We innovate with intention, focusing on technologies that lift people, protect freedoms, expand choices, and strengthen the social fabric.
Commitments to Uphold
  1. Lead with Abundance: Anchored in generosity, value creation, and the responsibility to pay it forward.
  2. Lead with Responsibility: Ensure all work I produce or influence is ethical, accountable, and safe.
  3. Lead with Equity: Actively dismantle barriers and advocate for communities historically excluded from technological and economic power.
  4. Lead as a Connector: Build bridges that strengthen us all and better prepare us to solve future challenges.
  5. Lead with Purpose: Focus on technologies and systems that create meaningful, measurable public good.
Commitments to Reject
  • Harmful Uses of Technology: I will not tolerate or participate in:
    • Hacking intended to harm or exploit.
    • Social engineering manipulation.
    • Misinformation or disinformation campaigns.
    • Misleading systems or deceptive design.
    • Abuse of data, privacy, or power.
    • Scams, fraud, or exploitative practices.
  • "Move Fast and Break Things": I commit instead to moving fast with informed intention, grounded in research, ethics, community insight, and responsibility.
  • Technological Harm Masked as Innovation: Any solution preying on confusion, fear, inequity, or vulnerability is extraction, not innovation, and has no place in this work.
Commitments to Growth
  • I will remain a learner, adapting and refining my knowledge as technology evolves.
  • I will pivot when evidence, community needs, or new insight requires change.
  • I will welcome critique, transparency, and accountability.

"Let us choose abundance grounded in generosity. Let us choose integrity. Let us choose collective power. Let us build the future our communities deserve."
